The Ability of Art
Speaker: Meaghan Richter I am the most amazing, unique, creative being you will ever have the pleasure of knowing. I have escaped a cult, survived cancer and I am a super mom of two. After having brain surgery and my third spine surgery, everything in my life changed. I had to come to grips with my new limitations and I found working with vinyl and canvas was a great mental and physical outlet as well as a great way to bring smiles to others faces. Art is not only something I love to do, but truly something I need to do to be the person I am.

Making Art, Showing Art, Seeing Art
Speaker: Elle Schorr Elle Schorr, urban photographer / artist, organizer of Art Salons at the Armory Art Center, and curator, links her growth to the many opportunities offered by local non-profit and other organizations. These organizations meet a huge need by so many creative people to show their work, gain recognition and validation for what they do, meet other artists, attract gallery owners, and sell their work.
She asks six questions: What does it mean to be an artist? Why do we make art? Why do we want to see it? Why do we show it? Why is it important to have art in our communities, and give opportunities to artists to show what we are doing? What is the value of art? Schorr will show many of her own multiple perspective / single exposure photographs, and will talk about some of the non-profit organizations where she’s shown her work, curated exhibitions, and organized Art Salons. You can learn more about Elle here: www.elleschorrphotography.com https://www.facebook.com/elle.schorr/ https://www.instagram.com/elleschorr/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/elle-schorr-07031135/ |

What is the fine line between exploration and unification? Can one's creativity be thwarted by continually remaining in his or her own style?
