 artDISCOURSE Series (2022)
The artDISCOURSE Series extends throughout the week of Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week and is integral in connecting all of the art & culture related activities taking place during the week. It will feature a week-long series of discussions and provocative discourse with artists, curators, and professionals on the current issues that engage them on a global and local community basis.

The evolution of digital art has taken the world of NFTs by storm. If you have ever thought about getting into NFTs and don't know how, this talk is for you.

Join Zero Empty Spaces resident artist Rashaad Black from his Gulfstream Park studio for an informative and engaging discussion as part of the artDISCOURSE Speaker Series during the 4th Annual Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week.

The talk will cover these areas;
-What the heck are NFT’s?
-What does this mean for my art?
-Should I do it?
-How the heck do I mint my first NFT?
-What’s next?

By the end of this 45 minute discussion you will have basic knowledge of what NFT's are and how to get started selling your NFTs online.

Tech + Art: Bridging the Gap - Carol Prusa
Prusa's awesome body of work involves fantastical visions of cosmic powers beyond us. Experimenitng with resin, fiberglass, LED, and silverpoint, Prusa asks us what lies beyond the unknown. Her impressive geometry and craftsmanship adds to the transcendent aura of each piece, becoming universes of their own. Born in Chicago, Prusa lives and works in South Florida and exhibits internationally, including Bernice Steinbaum Gallery (MIami) and Bluerider Art (Taipei). Her work is included in excellent public and private collections, including the Perez Art Museum (Miami), The Museum of Arts and Design (NYC), Telfair Art Museum (Savannah), and the Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz Collection.

Casa Nueva Opening Reception and Artist Talk
Casa Nueva features Jahaira Ríos Campos y Gálvez, Karla Kantorovich, Aurora Molina, Devora Peréz, Natalie Plasencia, Silvana Soriano, and Curatorial Gestures by Beláxis Buil. This exhibition aims to invite the viewer to step into our new home, to witness how each artist desires to activate a path towards progress, pioneering a space for themselves and others by harvesting the American landscape for new beginnings. ​Whether your new to collecting, an established collector, or the recipient of artwork passed down to you, attendees will learn about the value of art, the art market, how to make strategic investments while collecting, and opportunities in the market place that they might not have known existed.
