Reel Lauderdale is a dynamic showcase that epitomizes the burgeoning film scene in South Florida. This annual event stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of storytelling emerging from the region, bringing together seasoned filmmakers and fresh talents alike.
This showcase is made possible with the generous support of UniteUs Group, Choose954, Sam Houle, White Elephant Group (WEG), Savor Cinema & Film Lauderdale.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS:
Short-length (under 40 minutes) narrative, documentary, animated, experimental films, and music videos regardless of whether it has been screened publicly prior. Showcase dates: January 27 - 28, 2024. Showing date & time will be determined by organizers. Short Films: $10 (per submission) Feature Films: $20 (per submission). Local Culture Category:
Lauderdale and the greater surrounding region is a hotbed of culture, with intersections of identifying groups and peoples constantly creating and destroying conventions that define our home. Reel Lauderdale hopes to showcase the films that paint our town through the eyes of its own citizens. This is the category for the stories that feel and engender Broward and adjacent districts. |
Music Video Category:
South Florida is recognized around the globe as the birthplace of several forms of music and houses countless artists who are making both an impact here and abroad. Reel Lauderdale will showcase the most creative and gritty music videos in hopes to highlight not just the music but the feel to the local music scene. |
Feature Films Category:
Reel Lauderdale wants to find the auteurs of our turf; the writers, cinematographers, directors who are dedicated to their craft. We hope to showcase films 40-minutes-long and over that are itching to be shown to the public and spread buzz in this sector. |
